Sustainability is teamwork

For us, this means taking responsibility together - for people, products, the environment, and our region. We are committed to fair working conditions, more sustainable materials, renewable energies, and strong partnerships.

Materials

We work along the entire supply chain to make our textiles fairer and more environmentally sustainable. We rely on recycled polyester and organic cotton as more sustainable materials. We aim to increase the share of these materials every year.

Recycled Polyester

Polyester is the most important material for us as a team sports specialist. By using recycled polyester we can act more environmentally conscious and still ensure the positive properties. For this, we use old PET bottles, for example, which are cleaned, melted and spun into new yarn. For the World Jersey, we even use old textiles that we recycle. Organic cotton

In our JAKO FAIR products, we specifically use cotton from controlled organic cultivation. With organic cotton, the use of synthetic chemical pesticides and the use of genetically modified plants is prohibited. In recent years, we have been able to switch many of our cotton items to organic cotton. In the future, we want to continue to push the use of sustainable cotton. Environmental management

We want to take responsibility and become even more transparent. By calculating our greenhouse gas emissions, we are creating a reliable basis for our climate management. This helps us to gain transparency about our emissions, identify key influencing factors, and develop targeted measures to reduce our carbon footprint.

Packaging

When it comes to packaging, we make sure to reduce it wherever possible, avoid it altogether, or use more environmentally friendly materials. Our shipping cartons are made from 72% recycled materials. In addition, we were able to reuse more than 94,000 supplier cartons for shipping our orders in 2024.

Energy

We transport 99% of our deliveries by ship or truck and avoid air freight. We also ship orders together with DPD using climate-friendly parcel transport. With the photovoltaic system on our company building in Hollenbach, we already produce 500 MWh of solar power per year.
